Past Work

The boat featured on our banner head is an Adirondack Guideboat, built by Jim on commission from a customer. Traditionally, the Adirondack Guideboat is built with spruce frames, but this one was built with Red Cedar strips and fiberglass for strength and lightness. The Guideboat is rowed like a row boat and is known for its speed and strength for carrying a hunting guide, a “sport” hunter and his dogs, and later if they are lucky, the deer that had been bagged. This one has a sliding seat for rowing to add more exercise for its owner.

A 40 foot Choy Lee sailboat had its teak deck completely replaced.

Jim rebuilt the bow sprit on a 32 foot sailboat.

Jim has built canoes, kayaks, dorys, and all other types of small vessels.
